SCIENCE BOFFINS IN SCHOOLS
Everything we do apart from the School Assemblies has a take home for the Kids!
Science Boffins offers a wide range of interactive programmes for schools, including:
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
We have a wide selection of topics covering Key stage 1, 2 & 3 Science, for example, the introductory system, OUR MATERIAL WORLD has 8 topics over 9 weeks with the Childrens After Schools Club putting on a show & tell for the parents on the 9th week
OUR MATERIAL WORLD
With experiments for the After Schools Club to explain, measure and create different types of sound, including some Karaoke fun! Explaining temperature as well as demonstrating conduction, convection, relative temperature and finishing with some candy floss making. Looking at colours, light and how the eye functions, including UV painting and indoor fireworks. Understanding polymers and making some slime, bouncy balls and putty. Looking at various methods used by scientist to fly in the past, including experiments to explain Bernoulli’s principle, making and racing planes. Looking at crazy reactions that are fun to see, with colour changes, gas formation and heat. Performing tricks and understanding the science behind popular magic tricks and illusions. Super fun experiments teaching the properties of air, air pressure with some interesting smells thrown in for those that think science stinks!
WORKSHOPS
Usually booked for half or whole days, our Schools workshops have proved to be a great hit not only with schools but museums and libraries as well. We will tailor the Workshop to your particular requirements or offer one of our standard presentations. Our existing prepared topics for workshops include

ASSEMBLIES
These are one hour or 45 minute shows designed for schools, to inspire, enthuse and educate the pupils, to love science and their science teacher! These may include fire, magic, Air, entertaining stories and spectacular delivery with the use of volunteer pupils and teachers as well. You would never have though learning science could be so entertaining.
SCIENCE EVENINGS
These are very popular during Science week and are in high demand. The evenings are a mixture of School Assembly(s) and School Workshops tailored for the individual needs of the school. Book early to avoid disappointment.
FAIRS AND STALLS
Bespoke Shows and stalls for fairs or special events
Our interactive stalls and family orientated science shows are always a welcome addition if not just for the presence of the boffin! You decide how long you want us for and what you want, then we do the rest. Our stalls include Science toys, Slime making and dry ice demos, all of which are interactive and hands on for the children, don’t worry, the grown ups can join in as well! Do you want us to bring Candy Floss to your Schools Fair or School Fete? - well ask us and may be we can.
